Turkmenistan visa 

• Tourist Visa – For people going to Turkmenistan for tourism and sightseeing. A licensed tour agency must provide an LOI. 

• Business visa – This type of visa is for visitors who have business-related trips, meetings or who are starting partnerships. You need a letter of invitation from the company or organization in Turkmenistan. 

A transit visa is given to people who are only passing through the country to another country. 

• Apply for an approved Letter of Invitation (LOI) from a tour agency or business partner that is licensed in Turkmenistan. 

• Be sure that the LOI is stamped by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC). 

• Make sure you have your passport, Emirates ID, photos, NOC and bank statements ready. 

• Make an appointment at the Turkmenistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai. 

• Go to the appointment with your visa documents and submit them in person. 

• Allow for the visa processing period which is usually 15 to 20 days after the appointment and embassy’s approval. 

• Obtain your visa from the embassy or consulate when the process is finished. 

UAE residents of various nationalities must obtain a visa to enter Turkmenistan. The application must be supported by a valid passport, invitation letter, and attested documents. Visa exemptions are rare, so it’s essential to verify your eligibility prior to making travel plans. 

To apply for a Turkmenistan tourist or business visa, UAE residents must prepare the following: 

• Passport copy (valid for at least 6 months from the travel date) 

• UAE residence visa copy (valid for at least 3 months from intended return date) 

• Emirates ID copy 

• Two recent passport-sized photos (white background) 

• NOC from employer on company letterhead, signed and stamped 

• Stamped bank statements for the last 3 months 

• Attested LOI from UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) 

Processing Time: 15 to 20 business days after appointment (approval subject to embassy) 

Visa Validity: 3 months validity, 30 days stay 

Cost: AED 750 (includes appointment booking & service charges). AED 130 to be paid at the time of appointment.
